This post is an exciting opportunity for a motivated, committed and experienced senior nurse to strengthen their safeguarding portfolio and to lead and drive safeguarding activity within the organisation. You will be a key leader in the safeguarding team which consists of Named Nurses, Safeguarding Children Specialist Nurses, Head of Safeguarding & Looked After Children and Safeguarding Business Manager and business support.
This post holder will work across Sussex in a hybrid role but be responsible for West Sussex to support the safe delivery of the Trust's Safeguarding Children functions and will receive excellent induction and ongoing management support to develop their role and expertise.

  • To assist the Safeguarding team to provide a robust safeguarding service across SPFT services. Any advice provided to staff should be in accordance with local safeguarding and trust policies and guidelines and in line with current evidence-based research and practice.
  • To provide formal expert supervision and support to CAMHS and Adult services staff in accordance with governance frameworks, escalating concerns to the Lead Nurse/Named Nurse(s) in order to respond to and address risks, identify themes and to support any service learning.
  • To assist the Safeguarding team in the development and facilitation/delivery of safeguarding related training across the service.
