Responsibilities

Operate wire-EDM machines as required

Communicate with Shift Supervisor daily for job assignments and instructions

Load wire and other machining media into machine

Review setup sheet, quality routing, inspection data, and specifications for detailed operation procedures, machining sequence, and dimensions of finished workpiece

Load control media or retrieve preprogrammed machine instructions from data base

Adjust machine parameters and flushing conditions to maximize cutting efficiency when required

Observe and listen to machine operation to detect malfunctions

Measure workpiece for conformance to specifications, using various inspection media, recording data when required

General machine maintenance, housekeeping, and organization of shop (filters, machine watering, DI, used wire collection, floor care, fixture cleaning, etc.)

Qualifications

Some experience in wire EDM operation; on‑the‑job training provided.
