GENERAL POSITION SUMMARYThe scope of this position is to move, deliver, organize, cycle count, and track various materials and components within the manufacturing operations of Orenco Systems. Primary duties include movement and accounting of WIP (work in progress), subcomponents, and finished products. Responsible and accountable for the direct electronic movement of raw material, WIP, and finished goods.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & KRA (Key Result Areas) Safety/Culture- Continuously maintain Orenco management's safety, cultural, and professional standards.
- Promote, encourage, and reinforce a positive safety culture, safe practices, and a safe work environment to all employees.
- Navigate computer systems to look up part locations, check inventory, and orders.
- Maintain and organize various materials in corresponding storage areas using appropriate applications.
- Inventory control and cycle counting.
- Order raw material from warehouse in assigned area.
- Deliver finished goods within two days of order ship date.
- Communicate in a professional manner with receiving, transfer drivers, production, and inventory control staff to prioritize workload for handling subcomponents and other shop specific materials.
- Inform management of overstocking or inventory shortages and help determine reorder points and max inventory levels.
- Communicate with warehouse staff and work cells to coordinate, prioritize, and schedule the movement of support materials and finished goods.
- Operate fork trucks, carts and pallet jacks.
- Use handheld scanners.
- Track and deliver goods from drop zones.
- Accurately put product in designated bin locations/drop zones.
- Request transfers to re-stock-controlled inventory in various locations.
- Anticipate and respond to material needs of specific work centers assigned.
- Report inventory shortages and count issues to the Shipping and Material Handling Manager and Material Control Manager.
- Perform cycle counts of subcomponents, WIP, and other departmental materials.
- Perform daily safety inspection on forklift before operation and re-fuel when necessary.
- Organize movement of subcomponents, finished goods and WIP materials to eliminate delays or inefficient production scheduling.
- Empty trash dumpsters into appropriate receptacle as they are filled or at end of shift.
- Keep materials areas clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.
- Attend and participate in team meetings.
- Be willing to cross-train in similar duties within job description at multiple locations in the company.
Work is to be done during manufacturing business hours, may include occasional early and/or later shift as needed. Occasional overtime may be required. Regular, consistent, and predictable attendance is required. Performs other duties as assigned.
EducationNo minimum requirement.
Knowledge/Skills/Experience- Minimum one year in Material Handler I role before advancing to Material Handler II and completion of skills sign-off by Material Handling Manager.
- Must be forklift certified and demonstrate proficiency. (Or achieve forklift cert within 30 days of hire).
- Completion of initial eight-hour Emergency Response & Haz Wopper Operations level training is required, and annual eight-hour Haz Wopper-Operations Level training thereafter.
- Demonstrate safe handling of hazardous products.
- Have or quickly acquire a good working knowledge of where parts are located.
- Demonstrate adequate reading, writing, and math skills.
- Proficient in counting and entering data for transactions/transfers.
- Excellent listening and communication skills; excellent interpersonal relations including flexibility and patience.
