About Us:
EK Outreach Services is a specialist provider of one-to-one teaching for students who are unable to access mainstream school environments due to medical, emotional or learning difficulties. We work with students who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), providing individualized support to meet their specific learning needs. Our goal is to offer high-quality education, giving students the tools and confidence to succeed despite the challenges they face in traditional educational settings.
Our holistic approach provides academic guidance as well as emotional and social support, fostering personal and educational growth.
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Maths Teacher to deliver one-to-one lessons with diverse needs, including those with SEND. In this role you will teach and support students who cannot attend mainstream schooling, helping them engage with Maths Studies through tailored and accessible lessons. Lessons may take place in student homes, libraries or other agreed locations.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and deliver individualized Maths lessons aligned with the student’s academic level and learning objectives.
- Teach a range of topics at KS4 or equivalent levels.
- Promote mathematical understanding, engagement and motivation in students.
- Remain patient and flexible, adapting lesson content and teaching methods to support students with SEND and other learning challenges.
- Track and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to students, parents and staff.
- Communicate effectively and collaborate with pastoral teams to ensure holistic support for each student.
- Maintain thorough records of lessons and progress in line with educational requirements.
- Ensure a safe learning environment and comply with background check and DBS requirements.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or significant experience teaching Maths.
- Experience in Edexcel Functional Skills Maths (Entry Level 1 up to Level
2), KS3, GCSE Mathematics Foundation and Higher level. - Experience working with SEND students is highly desirable.
- Excellent knowledge of the Mathematics curriculum and related topics.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging and inspiring students in a one-to-one setting.
- Flexibility to work in various locations, including students’ homes or designated learning environments.
- Valid DBS check or willingness to undergo one. All prospective employees will undergo an enhanced background check conducted by the Disclosure & Barring Service, as required by child protection regulations.
