This role is ideal for an experienced HLTA who enjoys having real responsibility in the classroom and making a visible impact on pupils who need structure, consistency, and strong relationships.

We are seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to work across SEN and specialist settings, supporting learning and confidently stepping in to cover classes when required.

The role

* Provide whole-class support and short-term cover when teachers are absent

* Support pupils with SEN / SEMH, helping them stay engaged and regulated

* Assist with lesson delivery, interventions, and behaviour management

* Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and support teams to maintain consistency

* Create a calm, structured learning environment where pupils can progress

The ideal candidate

* Qualified HLTA or equivalent classroom experience

* Confident managing a class independently when needed

* Experience in SEN schools, PRUs, or alternative provision

* Strong behaviour management and clear communication skills

* Reliable, adaptable, and calm under pressure
