My client is a fast-growing, award-winning Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering and Transport Planning consultancy delivering projects across residential, commercial and care sectors. You will join a collaborative business working on schemes ranging from local developments to large-scale strategic sites, building long-term relationships with developers, contractors and local authorities.
 
In this Principal Civil Engineer role, you will be:

· Leading and managing a civil engineering design team delivering drainage, highways and external works schemes

· Overseeing projects from pre-application through planning, detailed design and condition discharge

· Designing and reviewing drainage systems in line with Sewers for Adoption, Building Regulations and the SuDS Manual

· Delivering on- and off-site highway works including S278 and S38 schemes to relevant standards

· Managing team resources, reviewing drawings and reports, and maintaining quality outputs

· Mentoring engineers working towards professional accreditation

· Preparing fee proposals and managing project budgets

· Attending client meetings and site visits, building strong working relationships

· Managing design risk and embedding health, safety and sustainability principles
 
To be considered for this Principal Civil Engineer position, you will ideally have:

· Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status, or be working towards CEng

· A degree or HND in Civil Engineering

· Strong experience in drainage, highways and infrastructure design

· Team leadership and project management experience

· Experience working with developers, architects and local authorities

· Commercial awareness and fee proposal experience

· Proficiency in AutoCAD and Site 3D (or equivalent)

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
 
Your salary will be £58,000 - £68,000 dependent on experience, reflecting your capability as a Principal Civil Engineer.
