Job Title: Locum SPR in General Anaesthetics

Location: West Midlands

Rate: £60-£70

Contract Type: Locum (short-term and long-term assignments available)

Start Date: ASAP

Minimum 4 years experience in UK anaesthesia; must have an in-date ALS. Must not be subject to complaints or disciplinary measures. Passed Primary FRCA. Able to assess critically unwell patients in ED/ward. Able to institute stabilization/resuscitation, including CVC/A-line, of critically unwell patients in ICU and remote sites. Airway competent with experience on a first-on-call rota (or higher). Competent in transfer of level 2/3 patients (intra- and inter-hospital).

Experience in a similar or larger obstetric unit in the UK including Labour ward on-calls. Liaise with the on-call team to provide safe anaesthesia for parturients.

A mixture of Days and Nights (12.5 hours) / for Theatre/ICU on-calls. A mixture of Days and Nights (11.75/12.75 hours) / for Obstetric on-call shifts.

As a locum SPR in General Anaesthetics, you'll provide high-quality care and support across anaesthetics (general) services.

• Delivering safe and effective clinical care
• Supporting multidisciplinary teams and junior staff
• Participating in audits and service development

Essential:

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree
• Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
• Relevant postgraduate training or experience in the specialty
• A current Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check or PVG check - or willingness to undergo one as part of the registration process
• UK Right to Work
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Desirable:

• Specialty training at ST3+ level or equivalent
