Client Details

My client is a SME freight forwarding business with huge ambitions for growth in the freight & shipping industry. You will be joining a fast‑paced environment assisting in finding logistics solutions for some of the world's largest industrial, retail & FMCG based customers. The company focuses on air freight, sea freight & road freight solutions that are both cost effective and time sensitive.

As a Freight Forwarder you will report to the International Shipping & Freight Manager on a daily basis and be responsible for the following areas in the Sutton Coldfield office:

• Managing pricing, quoting, booking and file monitoring of freight across import & export for air, sea and road freight.
• Managing air, sea and ocean freight import and export bookings including pricing, quotations, end‑to‑end shipping and customs documentation.
• Developing and building relationships to ensure a high level of customer service is provided to clients based on their business requirements.
• Informing customers about freight prices, port charges, costs of special documents, insurance prices and handling charges.
• Handling customs entries (EUR1's / ATR1's) and arranging billings for VAT/Duties.
• Documenting operations and transportation (booking, airway bills and loading confirmation).
• Nominating carriers, airlines and GSA in line with rates, OTIF value and customer requirements across a variety of INCOTerms.

The successful candidate will have an expansive background in either air, sea or road freight forwarding. The ideal Freight Forwarder will have the following skills and experience:

• 2+ years' experience in freight forwarding, transport planning.
• Experience of pricing, quotation and planning customer deliveries across air, sea or road freight forwarding.
• Desirable experience of customs compliance (not essential).
• Excellent customer service experience.
• Knowledge of INCOTerms is advantageous.
• Commutable to Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham on a hybrid basis.
