Capital & Financial Accountant

Help shape the future of healthcare through a major capital investment programme. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Capital & Financial Accountant to join a leading NHS Acute Hospital during a significant period of investment and development. Working closely with the Financial Controller and senior finance team, you will play a key role in managing capital accounting, fixed assets, lease accounting, VAT matters and financial reporting for a large-scale capital programme.

You will also support the production of statutory accounts, work closely with auditors and provide financial expertise on major investment projects and business cases. The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant, or equivalent. with strong financial accounting and capital accounting experience, ideally gained within the NHS or wider public sector. You will be confident explaining complex financial information to senior stakeholders and have a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.

Key requirements include:
• Qualified accountant.
• Strong financial and capital accounting experience.
• Statutory accounts and audit experience.
• Knowledge of NHS accounting standards and VAT.
• Advanced Excel and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
