The stroke service at SFH is based at King's Mill Hospital (KMH) and is an all-inclusive model covering hyper‑acute, acute and rehabilitation services, as well as the Integrated Community Stroke Service. All of these are under the same management team, sharing team members, clinical protocols and governing structures. Our Stroke Service admits approximately 800 patients with confirmed stroke each year. An out of hours thrombolysis service is provided in partnership with Nottingham University Hospitals (NUH).

A high‑risk TIA service runs 5 days per week with dedicated same‑day carotid Doppler and MRI imaging to provide carotid endarterectomy within 48 hours as needed. At weekends the service is provided by NUH.

• Maintenance of the highest clinical standards in the management of patients.
• Teaching and training of junior staff and medical students.
• Actively participate in departmental and Trust matters concerning Clinical Governance and audit.
• Ensure active participation in continuing medical education (CME).

• MRCP or equivalent.
• Fully registered with GMC with a licence to practice.
• Completed at least four years’ full‑time post‑graduate training (or equivalent gained on a part‑time or flexible basis), at least two of which are in a specialty training programme in a relevant specialty or as a fixed‑term specialty trainee in a relevant specialty; or have equivalent experience and competencies.

• Progress towards or attainment of College exams.
• Experience with in the speciality in the UK.

• Experience with audit, teaching or research / critical review of literature.
• Previous experience in a multidisciplinary setting.
