An opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic and motivated doctors to work in the Anaesthetic and Critical Care department at Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS foundation trust. The role will facilitate delivery of an expanded Anaesthetic service. There will be a requirement for in and out-of-hours work in Anaesthetics and/or Critical Care, opportunity for sessions in elective and emergency anaesthesia. The role is potential for flexibility within the role and option for solo and supported/CPD anaesthetic lists.
This role is to enable an individual to gain competencies and support application for CESR if desire, or with potential future career progression to Specialist Doctor. If desired we will support any exam preparation candidates require and where possible support participation in in-house teaching. There will also be opportunity to contribute to clinical governance and quality improvement projects and successful candidates will be able to apply for SPA roles.
The over-riding purpose is to support the provision of the highest quality patient care through personal actions and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will participate in either 1st or 2nd-on-call for Anaesthetics, obstetric oncalls and/or a further tier, based on experience and the requirements of the department. The current rota structure for on-call follows a 1:8 pattern.
