You’ll be working with children who don’t always thrive in mainstream school—the ones who need a bit more patience, a bit more flexibility, and a bit more you.

Some days you’ll be in libraries. Some days in community hubs. Some days out and about.

But always with a child who benefits from your attention, consistency, and creativity.

You’ll play a real part in shaping a personalised curriculum.

You won’t be a spare part—you’ll be a trusted member of a team that “gets it” and behaves accordingly.

• You must drive and feel genuinely confident transporting a child in your own car from time to time.

You’ll need to add business use to your car insurance for this.

• Experience working in a school? Not essential.
• Experience with children? Absolutely essential.

or any other proper hands‑on role with young people, you’re already on the right track.

• Actually like children (sounds obvious, but it matters)
• Can stay calm and patient on the tougher days
• Focus on building trust and relationships—not barking instructions
• Believe education should flex around the child, not the other way round
• Care about making a long‑term difference, not just clocking in and out

• Ages : KS2 & KS3
• Days :
  Monday to Friday, term-time only
• Hours : 08 : 30–15 : 30
• Contract :
  Full-time, permanent
• Salary : £19,050
• Qualifications :
  Childcare / education qualifications desirable, not essential
• Career Path :
  After probation, you’ll have the opportunity to complete a funded Level 3 TA qualification and progress further

You’ll receive a thorough induction, shadowing opportunities, and access to funded qualifications after probation.
