• Teaching Food Technology within a secondary school setting
• Planning and delivering engaging and structured lessons that inspire students to achieve their full potential
• Assessing, monitoring and recording student progress to inform teaching and learning
• Setting challenging learning objectives and high expectations for all students
• Differentiating lessons to meet the needs of all learners, including those with SEND, EAL and high prior attainers
• Creating a positive and purposeful learning environment that promotes high standards of behaviour and achievement
• Using a range of assessment strategies to monitor progress and support student development
• Preparing reports and communicating effectively with parents, carers and colleagues
• Contributing to the wider life of the school through meetings, events and enrichment opportunities
• Working collaboratively with colleagues to share best practice and support academy improvement
• Participating in ongoing professional development and training opportunities
• Supporting the school’s ethos, values and commitment to inclusive education

This role is based in a well-established Secondary school located in the Sutton-in-Ashfield area, easily commutable via car or public transport. On their most recent Ofsted report they achieved an “Expected standard” score on six out of seven key metric areas.

To be considered for this role candidates must have / be able to demonstrate:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS.
• Experience of teaching Business Studies, or relevant curriculum subjects, within a British curriculum secondary school setting.
• A secure knowledge and understanding of the Business Studies curriculum.
• The ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet the needs of all learners.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• A commitment to raising standards and improving outcomes for all students.
• The ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, colleagues and external professionals.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• A commitment to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
• Full enhanced DBS certificate.
• Completion of the Connex Education Onboarding Process.
• A genuine passion for education and supporting young people to succeed.
• A minimum of 2 school-based references.
