Accounts Assistant

If you enjoy accounts but prefer being part of a smaller team where your contribution genuinely matters, this could be a really good move. We’re recruiting an Accounts Assistant for an established Salisbury business, joining a close-knit finance team and supporting the day-to-day running of a busy accounts function. It’s a varied role covering sales ledger, purchase ledger, credit control, banking and reconciliations, so would suit someone who enjoys having plenty to get involved with rather than being restricted to one area of finance.

What will you be doing? You’ll work closely with the Financial Controller and wider team, with responsibilities including:
Processing sales and purchase invoices, credit notes and payments Allocating customer receipts and maintaining accurate ledgers Credit control and customer credit checks Preparing and reconciling supplier payments Bank and cash book reconciliations Processing sales invoices and applications for payment Supporting month-end activities Assisting with costing and general finance administration Helping the wider accounts team wherever needed Who are we looking for?

You don’t need to tick every possible box. We’re looking for someone with some previous accounts or finance experience who is organised, accurate and comfortable working with numbers. You’ll need good attention to detail, a sensible and methodical approach and, importantly, a willingness to muck in as part of a small team. Experience using accounting software such as Sage would be useful, although attitude, aptitude and a genuine desire to do a good job are just as important.
