About the Role as a Clinical Lead

As Clinical Lead, you will work closely with the Home Manager to provide strong clinical leadership, oversee clinical governance, and support the delivery of exceptional nursing care throughout the home. You will lead and develop the nursing team, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and promote a culture of continuous improvement and best practice.

You will act as a key point of contact for residents, families, healthcare professionals and external agencies, ensuring effective communication and outstanding clinical outcomes for all residents.

Key Responsibilities of a Clinical Lead

Provide clinical leadership and support to the nursing and care teams.

Monitor and maintain high standards of nursing care throughout the home.

Oversee the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of resident care plans.

Monitor residents' wellbeing and ensure care plans are reviewed and updated in response to changing needs.

Support the Home Manager in implementing company policies, procedures and quality standards.

Lead on clinical governance, audits and quality improvement initiatives.

Manage medication processes, including audits, competency assessments and safe administration practices.

Support and mentor nursing staff, identifying training and development opportunities.

Conduct clinical supervision, competency assessments and performance support for nurses.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation and records.

Liaise effectively with GPs, community teams, hospitals, relatives and other healthcare professionals.

Ensure compliance with CQC regulations, NMC standards, safeguarding requirements and infection prevention procedures.

Promote a positive culture that places residents' dignity, independence, choice and wellbeing at the centre of care delivery.

About You

We're looking for someone who has:

A valid NMC registration as a Registered General Nurse (RGN).

Previous experience in a Senior Nurse, Deputy Manager or Clinical Lead role within a nursing home setting.

Strong knowledge of clinical governance, regulatory compliance and quality assurance.

Experience of leading, mentoring and developing nursing teams.

Excellent clinical assessment and care planning skills.

Strong communication and leadership abilities.

A compassionate, resident-focused approach to care.

The ability to build effective relationships with residents, families and healthcare professionals.

Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workloads effectively.

A commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred care and driving continuous improvement.
