Trainee Nurse Endoscopist

Band 6 Trainee Practitioner – Endoscopy (Band 6 during Training phase - progressing to Band 8A)

An exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated GI nurse to undergo training as a Nurse Endoscopist within the Endoscopy Department at Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The Department is a JAG accredited unit and includes the East Midlands Endoscopy Training Centre.

Perform Upper and Lower Gastrointestinal Endoscopic procedures on regular designated endoscopy training lists. Receive internal and external training and assessment in accordance with JAG and Trust guidelines. Work closely with senior Nurse Endoscopists and other clinical specialists, mentor and coach within the team. Maintain a structured theoretical portfolio with regular assessments alongside your clinical development.

• Post registration with experience of endoscopy procedures.
• Qualified to degree level or evidence of higher education/willingness to undertake.
• Current NMC registration.
