Retail Assistant - Part Time, Evenings & Weekends

Job Overview

We are looking to recruit a new retail assistant for our shop in Kirkby‑In‑Ashfield, Nottinghamshire. This is a permanent part‑time position working a variety of shifts, with a minimum of 12 hours worked over 2 days each week, including weekends.

Hours:

12 hours across 2 days per week. Position requires availability for weekday evenings and all day on Saturday and Sunday.

• Ages 16‑20: £10.95 per hour

• Make all customers feel welcome with a friendly smile and simple hello
• Help customers find the items they’re looking for
• Offer fast and friendly service at the tills, including packing assistance and a polite thank you and goodbye
• Handle stock with care, including working deliveries, quickly placing products into freezers and onto shelves for customers to buy
• Work with the rest of the team to complete daily and weekly routines that keep the shop safe, clean and tidy

• A friendly, positive, hardworking approach to work
• Enjoy being busy with varied tasks—delivering, serving on the till, helping customers on the floor, cleaning, and stock rotation
• Reliable, as you will be an important part of a small team that depends on you to do your best each shift
• Flexibility with shifts; rota is planned three weeks in advance and accommodates external commitments
