POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director Product Management, Commercial will support the development of HVAC products and solutions for the commercial market segment. The position will develop and execute market segment product development strategies, product introduction and life cycle management plans.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to the following:
- Function as a commercial product expert for the City Multi product segment as well as adjacent related products.
- Make recommendations to upper management regarding the commercial HVAC product roadmap.
- Work with the Commercial Product Champions to gather market information regarding customer needs.
- Develop competitive commercial cooling/heating, controls & ventilation product comparisons to support product and corporate strategy.
- Coordinate with the sales organization and engineering support team to identify product portfolio gaps, needs and enhancements.
- Analyze sales forecasts based on historical data, market conditions, trend analysis and sales projections.
- Work cross functionally to analyze market data and demand behavior to determine new product pricing strategies.
- Develop product specifications by outlining product requirements, business case justification, product definition and revenue targets.
- Provide guidance to the Marketing department for the creation of marketing & sales support materials, marketing promotions and campaigns, etc. that will facilitate the product launch and demand.
- Act as factory liaison for product specification, introduction and life cycle management activities.
- Support testing and market compliance of product introductions.
- Manage projects within project timelines and within budgets allocations.
- Ensure alignment of internal/external resources to achieve product goals.
- Provide support in tracking and generating reports as assigned to company leadership on a regular basis.
- Track record of P&L ownership and driving operational cost improvements.
- Responsible for value stream charter, SIPOC, and other continuous improvement tools related to Product Management.
- Managing the value stream transformation plan, determining project prioritization, and driving key initiatives forward through kaizen, A3, JDI, or other projects. Ensuring project items are completed on time.
- Responsible for value stream KPIs and countermeasures. Creating and delivering monthly value stream updates during leadership’s strategy deployment meeting.
- Ensuring representation and participation in the value stream from key functional areas. Organizing and running biweekly value stream status meetings. Creating and promoting a collaborative environment for team members.
- Maintain and need and organized work environment.
- Manage, mentor and develop the product management team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Willing to travel domestically (and possibly internationally) up to 25% to attend various Company meetings and training sessions.
- Performs other job functions as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years of product marketing or product management experience at a similar industry preferred.
- Commercial HVAC industry experience preferred.
- Experience developing marketing materials related to new product introduction preferred.
- Ability to create and deliver product presentations to leadership.
- Previous experience working in a cross functional development environment.
- Motivated self-starter comfortable with tight deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with the Microsoft suite of products including Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.
- Customer Focus mindset to support internal and external customers.
- Ability to take initiative, ask clarifying questions when needed and carry out responsibilities of position independently.
- Prioritize and manage time effectively.
- Ability to work independently or with a team.
