BIM Lead - Prefabrication​/Construction

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced BIM Lead to lead BIM coordination, modeling, and detailing for commercial construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in prefabrication, construction detailing, and constructible BIM models, with an understanding of how design information translates into fabrication and field installation.

This position will work closely with project managers, engineers, fabrication teams, field personnel, and other trades to coordinate building systems and deliver accurate, fabrication-ready models and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Lead BIM modeling, detailing, and coordination for commercial construction projects
• Develop accurate 3D models, shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and installation drawings
• Support prefabrication and panelized construction planning
• Coordinate models with architectural, structural, MEP, and other building systems
• Review drawings, specifications, RFIs, and project requirements
• Identify and resolve clashes, dimensional conflicts, and constructability issues
• Translate design documents into models and drawings for fabrication and field installation
• Lead BIM/VDC coordination meetings with project stakeholders
• Coordinate closely with project management, fabrication, and field teams
• Review models and drawings for accuracy, completeness, and constructability
• Mentor BIM Designers/Modelers and help maintain BIM standards and workflows

Qualifications

• 5+ years of BIM, VDC, detailing, or construction modeling experience preferred
• Prefabrication or off-site construction experience strongly preferred
• Strong proficiency with Autodesk Revit
• Navisworks and clash-detection experience preferred
• Experience producing shop drawings and fabrication-level details
• Strong understanding of commercial construction and building assemblies
• Ability to read architectural and structural drawings
• Understanding of constructability, tolerances, connections, and field installation
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Experience leading BIM coordination meetings and mentoring designers/modelers preferred

Preferred Industry Experience
Experience with prefabricated/panelized construction, cold-formed metal framing, exterior wall systems, building envelope/façade systems, curtain wall, modular construction, structural steel, or specialty commercial construction is highly desirable.
