Job Summary:

The Electronic Technician will be responsible for assembling and testing advanced RF measurement systems, motion control systems, and other electronic products. This role involves supporting the development of test procedures, tools, and methods used to verify and certify the company’s electronic and electrical products. Key responsibilities include validating manufacturing equipment and integrated measurement systems, participating in design verification for new equipment, and contributing to product compliance documentation.

The technician will collaborate closely with System and Manufacturing Engineers to troubleshoot and resolve issues in integrated systems.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Build test stations as needed and test a variety of Electrical products and systems.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve test set-ups for qualifying production hardware.
  • In conjunction with Engineering and Management, develop procedures and tools for testing, calibration, and verification of standard products.
  • Participate in Failure Analysis when repetitive failure of equipment occurs.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and measurement records of product parameters and process control performance.
  • Assembles and installs various electrical or electronic components where operation and sequence are specified by schematics, blueprints, wire lists, diagrams, verbal instructions, or established operations practices
  • Uses a wide variety of specialized hand tools such as solder irons, wire strippers, crimpers, wrenches, screwdrivers, and pliers
  • May perform mechanical assembly of a medium complexity item; perform mechanical troubleshooting or adjustments to meet mechanical performance specifications or tolerances
  • Initiate CARs tickets, review and add detail to other Electronic Product CARs.
  • Work with Engineering to review ECNs to ensure the ECN resolves the CARs ticket.
  • Perform/oversee QA on Passive and low-level components and set the workmanship standard.
  • Maintain equipment calibration for Test and Assembly areas as a minimum.
  • Assist and train other Electronic Technicians and Engineers, when required, in troubleshooting, and repairing standard products.
  • RF coax to component connection methods for SMA and K connectors, including proper RF torque wrench usage
  • The gate keeper of the checks and balances to ensure zero defect manufacturing goal.
  • Strong understanding of RF Theory
  • Understands the relationship between Probe movement and RF measurement
  • Understanding of principals of motor control and resulting actions
  • Ability to independently troubleshoot Motor control systems
  • Ability to independently resolve Computer/ Controller installation RMA issues.
  • Diagnosing Software and Hardware interworking issues
  • Understand / troubleshoot Baseband electronic Products e.g. Receivers, PMC
  • Motivated, self-starter that takes a leadership role when action is needed


Minimum Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in testing electronic products, systems, modules, and test equipment
  • Technician Certificate or equivalent experience (Required)
  • Some mechanical assembly required along with the ability to read drawings
  • Reads and interprets engineering drawings
  • Solid specialized expertise in electronics; analog, power, digital, and RF.
  • Analytical reasoning and problem solving.
  • Understand basic RF principles.
  • Experience in developing test instructions and procedures.
  • Understand Calibration and measurement
  • Good communication skills written, spoken and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in RF/microwave component testing and characterization.
  • Proven ability in setting up and qualifying RF/Microwave test benches (>100GHz frequencies).
  • Proven skills with stepper motor and servo motor control and test.
