Overview

The Lead Mechanical Engineer is a seasoned expert in cooking range design, testing, manufacturing, serviceability, and certification. This role is critical for developing and improving innovative cooking range appliances. The engineer will ensure that products meet customer needs, safety standards, and quality guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop cooking ranges focusing on cost, performance, safety, and aesthetics, including detailed CAD design.
• Build and test prototypes, evaluate performance, and ensure compliance with UL and CSA standards.
• Research new technologies and materials to innovate product designs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet market and production requirements.
• Support manufacturing processes and tooling development for efficient production.
• Establish and maintain quality control standards.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
• Prepare technical documentation for production, installation, and maintenance.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources.
• Review and improve existing designs for performance, quality, and safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5-15 years of experience in cooking range product design and development.
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Solid Works, CATIA, SIEMENS NX preferred), FEA, CFD, and sheet metal fabrication.
• Knowledge of ANSI Z21.1, UL 858, and other safety and environmental standards.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and tooling.
• Strong project management, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Attention to detail and a continuous improvement mindset.
• Ability to travel to Mexico factory.
• Bilingual in English & Spanish;
  Mandarin is a plus.
