Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Controller to lead our accounting and financial operations within a dynamic manufacturing environment. The Controller will oversee all aspects of financial reporting, budgeting, cost accounting, internal controls, and compliance to ensure the organization’s fiscal integrity. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of manufacturing processes and cost structures, and a proven ability to drive process improvements and financial efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage all accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and cost accounting.
• Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Oversee inventory accounting, standard costing, variance analysis, and cost of goods sold (COGS) tracking.
• Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial planning in collaboration with executive leadership.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local reporting requirements and tax filings.
• Implement and maintain strong internal controls and accounting procedures to safeguard company assets.
• Manage audits and liaise with external auditors and tax advisors.
• Analyze financial performance, key metrics, and manufacturing variances to provide actionable insights.
• Partner with operations and supply chain to optimize production efficiency and cost control.
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering professional growth and high performance.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s or MBA preferred).
• CPA certification strongly preferred.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a Controller or similar leadership role within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing cost accounting, inventory management, and ERP systems.
• Proficiency with financial software and advanced Excel skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams, streamline processes, and implement financial best practices.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, or Net Suite.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
• Exposure to international operations and multi-site financial management.
