    Qualifications:

    Georgia Speech-Language Pathology license and/or teaching certificate and a valid Georgia driver's license required.
  • Education

    Qualifications:

    Master's degree in speech language pathology required.
  • Experience

    Qualifications:

    Professional Work Experience in Speech/Language therapy required.
  • Skills

    Qualifications:

    Thorough knowledge of due process requirements; thorough knowledge and skills conducting/interpreting comprehensive speech/language evaluations; knowledge of Early Childhood Special Education service delivery models; effective communication skills with colleagues and parents regarding speech/language disorders; ability to collaborate with team members for reports and meetings; and a positive attitude.
  • Primary Responsibilities:

    Conduct assessments, communicate findings, and collaborate with team members and families.
  • 1. Administer standardized and informal assessments for referred children.
    a. Review referral info and plan evaluations.
    b. Select and administer appropriate assessment tools.
    c. Collaborate with team members during assessments.
  • 2. Lead eligibility meetings following guidelines.
    a. Schedule meetings with required team members.
    b. Communicate assessment results effectively to families.
    c. Write eligibility reports referencing norms and communicate eligibility status.
  • 3. Educate parents on speech/language disorders.
  • 4. Provide guidance to school-based speech/language pathologists as needed.
  • 5. Complete documentation accurately and timely.
  • 6. Meet all departmental and legal timelines.
  • 7. Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Physical Demands:
    Sit, talk, hear, stand, walk, handle, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, lift up to 25 pounds, and vision requirements. Reasonable accommodations available.
