POSITION SUMMARYThe Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) invites applications for a full-time, open-rank faculty position in the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program at the Georgia campus. The College seeks a highly qualified and passionate individual with expertise in anatomy and a commitment to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service. The successful candidate will teach in the Clinical Anatomy course and contribute anatomy-related instruction to other areas of the curriculum, such as neuroscience and imaging.
Candidates with ultrasound experience, board specialty certifications (especially in neurologic, wound management, or cardiopulmonary care), or those holding terminal academic degrees are strongly encouraged to apply. Teaching responsibilities are in‑person. Additional expectations include mentoring graduate students, maintaining an active scholarly agenda, and engaging in service at the Program, School, College, and institutional levels.
- Teach in the DPT curriculum, with a primary focus on anatomy and related content areas.
- Participate in course and curriculum development as needed.
- Coordinate instructional content within the faculty member’s area(s) of expertise.
- Mentor and advise graduate students.
- Maintain an active and productive scholarship agenda.
- Provide service to the DPT program, the School of Health Sciences, the College, the profession, and the community.
- Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree and is licensed, or eligible for licensure, as a physical therapist in the State of Georgia; or has a terminal degree in Anatomical Sciences.
- Demonstrated expertise in anatomy (required).
- Evidence of successful teaching experience at the graduate or professional level (preferred).
- Evidence of scholarly productivity and a sustainable research agenda (preferred).
- Preference will be given to physical therapist candidates with contemporary expertise in one or more of the following areas:
- Cardiopulmonary
- Neurologic
- Limb loss/prosthetics
- Wound management
- Ultrasound
- Board certification in a physical therapy specialty (preferred).
- Earned research doctorate (PhD, EdD, DSc, DHS, or equivalent) strongly preferred.
- Licensed or eligible for licensure as a physical therapist in the State of Georgia
The referenced salary range is based on PCOM good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
