Senior Claims Specialist – Rideshare Commercial Claims Litigation Adjuster
Join Liberty Mutual Insurance as a Senior Claims Specialist responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and processing moderately complex to complex commercial property/casualty claims involving bodily injury or property loss in the rideshare sector.
Pay range: $74,000 – $139,000 per year (based on skills and experience).
Description: This role works within a Claims Team utilizing current technology to make decisions about liability/compensability, evaluate losses, negotiate settlements, and manage claim inventories. The Senior Claims Specialist assists the Claims Team Manager with assignment of new claims, provides technical direction, and monitors caseloads.
Office: You will be required to go into the office twice a month if you reside within 50 miles of designated locations.
Responsibilities- Plan and conduct investigations of claims, interviewing insureds, witnesses, and claimants, collecting documentation, and securing evidence.
- Refer claims to subrogation group or Special Investigations Unit as appropriate.
- Assess policy coverage, determine reserve requirements, and adjust reserves as part of claim processing.
- Assuming actual damages, negotiate settlements within assigned authority limits.
- Coordinate litigation activities and attend trials as a company representative.
- Act as senior technical professional, mentor and train team members.
- Participate in Quality Review process.
- Participate in Suit Committees, Round tables, Arbitrations, Mediations, field investigations and closed file reviews.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate and negotiate.
- Demonstrated leadership and time‑management ability to delegate and organize resources effectively.
- Expert knowledge of claims case handling practices, legal liability, general insurance policy coverage, and state tort laws, typically acquired through a bachelor’s degree or equivalent plus 4–6 years of related experience (including at least two years in a team‑leader capacity).
- State licensing required in some states.
