Position Overview
The Vice President of Commercial will lead the commercial strategy and execution for the Aggregates business, driving revenue growth, market share expansion, and customer satisfaction. This executive will oversee sales, marketing, pricing, and customer engagement functions, ensuring alignment with operational capabilities and long-term business goals. The role requires a strategic thinker with deep industry knowledge, strong leadership skills, and a proven ability to build and sustain high-performance teams.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute a comprehensive commercial strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Identify market trends, customer needs, and competitive dynamics to inform strategic decisions.
- Collaborate with the President and executive team to shape long‑term growth initiatives.
- Lead regional and national sales teams to achieve volume, revenue, and margin targets.
- Cultivate relationships with key customers, industry and civic stakeholders, and strategic partners.
- Drive new business opportunities and expand into adjacent markets.
- Oversee pricing strategy and execution to optimize profitability.
- Partner with finance and operations to ensure cost‑to‑serve and margin discipline.
- Guide marketing efforts to enhance brand visibility and customer engagement.
- Support digital transformation and data‑driven marketing initiatives.
- Build, mentor, and lead a high‑performing commercial team.
- Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and customer focus.
- Work closely with operations, logistics, finance, and HR to ensure seamless execution.
- Align commercial strategies with supply capabilities and operational constraints.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field; MBA preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in commercial roles within the construction materials or aggregates industry.
- Proven track record of driving revenue growth and margin improvement.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Experience leading large teams and managing complex customer relationships.
- Ability to travel as needed across the region.
