Position Summary

This production team member position uses a variety of hand and power tools, fixtures, work instructions, and test equipment to perform a series of operations to correctly assemble tools as assigned. The Automatic Taping Tools (ATF) Technician may work repairing Ames Tools or assembling and disassembling automatic taping tools for Tape Tech. The technician will be cross‑trained to perform multiple functions within the production environment and must work well in a team setting with a commitment to continuous improvement.

Experience with assembly and small hand tools is strongly preferred. Ability to work overtime as needed is required. Compensation is paid on a biweekly cycle.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Follow standard work instructions to repair Automatic Taping Tools (ATF) in accordance with quality standards.
  • Meet daily production expectations and quotas.
  • Identify and recognize quality defects during the assembly process.
  • Adhere to all safety rules and regulations.
  • Meet all quality specifications.
  • Maintain paperwork as assigned by management.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement activities.
  • Adhere to all 5S standards (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain).
  • Remain flexible and cross‑trained to perform a variety of production duties.
  • Meet attendance requirements and work overtime as required.
Basic Qualifications
  • High school diploma, GED, or one to three months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Ability to read and follow blueprints for tool assembly and repair.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in completing tasks.

  • Aptitude for working with small hand tools as well as pneumatic and cordless tools.
  • Ability to understand and apply mechanical concepts.

  • Regular lifting and/or moving of up to 10 pounds.
  • Vision abilities including close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
  • Occasional exposure to wet or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • Noise level is typically loud.
