Role
Purpose:
The Sales Manager improves sales, margin, and profitability levels through effective management of the sales team, including strategic planning and implementation of all Business Unit market plans while establishing relationships with customer management teams.
As Sales Manager, you will:
Manage activities of the assigned Account Managers through collaboration and planning.
Develop customer relationships at manager and executive levels within the territory.
Ensure development and execution of yearly strategic plans for the team.
Collaborate with other sales and engineering teams on major programs.
Provide leadership, coaching, and support to the assigned Account Managers. Responsible for recruiting, on-boarding, and team development.
Establish and monitor performance measures to ensure achievement of revenue and margin goals. Conduct annual performance reviews.
Monitor compensation to ensure proper motivation and performance rewards. Work with management to implement proposed changes.
Evaluate training requirements that may exist and implement processes for improvement.
Create, implement, and revise procedures and instructions. Support regional quality initiatives and company policies and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook.
Desired Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Include:
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Business or Engineering Minimum of 7 years electrical experience with 5 years of sales and/or engineering experience
Strong leadership skills with the ability to work in and lead cross-functional teams
Ability to direct and motivate a sales team to achieve and exceed their sales, margin, and customer service goals
Thorough knowledge of products and the market served by the company
Exceptional interpersonal skills, oral, and written communication skills, which are effective in one-on-one communications and group presentations
