PositionSummary
The Mechanical Technician plays a key role in the assembly, installation, and testing of high-precision mechanical and electromechanical systems. The ideal candidate will bring strong assembly and troubleshooting skills, blueprint and schematic interpretation, and the ability to support both in-house builds and field installations.
Key Responsibilities- Perform advanced mechanical and electrical assembly of precision components and positioning systems.
- Position, align, and fasten components using hand tools, torque wrenches, rivet guns, and welding equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and specification manuals to support assembly and wiring operations.
- Inspect, test, and verify parts and assemblies using calipers, gauges, micrometers, spinning lasers, and laser trackers.
- Rework, repair, and replace defective or damaged parts and assemblies.
- Perform preventive maintenance and update checklists as required.
- Support field installations, ensuring alignment, baseline testing, and successful system integration.
- Apply creative problem-solving and sound judgment to resolve technical challenges.
- High School diploma or GED.
- 5+ years of machine building/assembly experience or a combination of coursework and experience.
- Advanced mechanical troubleshooting and basic electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with assembly tools, mechanical techniques, and blueprint/schematic reading.
- Forklift certified, with ability to lift up to 45 lbs.
- U.S. citizenship and legal authorization to access export-controlled information.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (~25%).
