Mechanical Technician

Mechanical Technician responsible for the assembly, installation, and testing of high-precision mechanical and electromechanical systems in a low-volume, high-variation, project-driven, build-to-order environment. The Mechanical Technician plays a key role in the assembly, installation, and testing of high-precision mechanical and electromechanical systems. The ideal candidate will bring strong assembly and troubleshooting skills, blueprint and schematic interpretation, and the ability to support both in-house builds and field installations.

• Perform advanced mechanical and electrical assembly of precision components and positioning systems.
• Position, align, and fasten components using hand tools, torque wrenches, rivet guns, and welding equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and specification manuals to support assembly and wiring operations.
• Inspect, test, and verify parts and assemblies using calipers, gauges, micrometers, spinning lasers, and laser trackers.
• Rework, repair, and replace defective or damaged parts and assemblies.
• Perform preventive maintenance and update checklists as required.
• Support field installations, ensuring alignment, baseline testing, and successful system integration.
• Apply creative problem-solving and sound judgment to resolve technical challenges.

• High School diploma or GED.
• 5+ years of machine building/assembly experience or a combination of coursework and experience.
• Advanced mechanical troubleshooting and basic electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with assembly tools, mechanical techniques, and blueprint/schematic reading.
• Forklift certified, with ability to lift up to 45 lbs.
• U.S. citizenship and legal authorization to access export-controlled information.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (~25%).
