Team Leader - 1 Bedded LD Children's Home

Location:

Swadlincote
Salary: £32,000-£38,000 per annum

Hours:

40 per week (shift pattern including evenings & weekends)

Trusted Talent are recruiting for a Team Leader to join a 1‑beded Learning Disabilities children's home in Swadlincote. This role offers a rare opportunity to work in a highly focused, relationship‑led environment where you can make a direct and meaningful difference to one young person's life.

About the Team Leader Role

As Team Leader, you will lead shifts and act as the senior on duty within the home, ensuring consistency, safety, and high‑quality care at all times. You will play a vital role in delivering specialist support to a young person with learning disabilities, helping to promote independence, life skills, communication development, and emotional wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leading and supporting Residential Support Workers on shift
  • Implementing structured care plans tailored to individual needs
  • Supporting safeguarding processes and risk management
  • Maintaining accurate records and Ofsted‑compliant documentation
  • Promoting positive behaviour support strategies
  • Ensuring high standards of health & safety and medication management
  • Creating a nurturing, structured, and predictable environment

This is a hands‑on leadership position where the Team Leader sets the tone for patience, empathy, and professional boundaries.

What We're Looking For

To succeed as a Team Leader, you will need:

  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
  • Experience supporting children with Learning Disabilities
  • Previous senior or shift‑leading experience
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding and Ofsted standards
  • Confidence in leading structured routines and behaviour support
  • Full UK driving licence
