Level Teaching Assistant

We are looking for a hard‑working and enthusiastic person to work as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) in our school. The HLTA will complement the professional work of teachers by planning, preparing and delivering learning activities and monitoring and assessing individuals or groups.

• Teach classes under the specific guidance of the class teacher.
• Provide feedback to pupils on progress and achievement under the teacher’s guidance.
• Assist with planning of learning activities.
• Maintain a purposeful, orderly and supportive environment and assist with display of pupils’ work.
• Use strategies, in liaison with the teacher, to support pupils to achieve learning goals.
• Monitor pupils’ responses to learning activities, accurately record achievement/progress, and provide regular feedback to teachers.
• Promote good pupil behaviour, deal promptly with conflict and incidents in line with established policy, and encourage pupils to take responsibility for their behaviour.
• Prepare, maintain and use equipment/resources required to meet lesson plans and support pupils’ use, including supporting ICT use and developing pupils’ competence in its use.
• Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures related to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person.
• Support equality and diversity, ensuring all pupils have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop.
