Job Description

Special Education Teacher (SPED)

Employment Type:

Full-Time, Contract

Location:

South Carolina School District

Schedule:

Monday-Friday (Standard School Hours)

We're partnering with a South Carolina school district seeking a Special Education Teacher for an immediate start. This is a priority opening, and the district is prepared to move quickly with qualified candidates.

In this role, you will be the driving force behind student growth, engineering an inclusive classroom environment where diverse learners thrive. If you are dedicated to helping students unlock their full potential and achieve their Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals, we invite you to join our network of impactful educators.

Role Overview:

  • Implement positive behavior intervention strategies to foster a supportive and productive classroom climate.
  • Design and execute tailored lesson plans that accommodate various learning styles, abilities, and behavioral needs.
  • Utilize data-driven assessments to track, evaluate, and report student progress to families and administrative teams.
  • Deliver specialized instruction in small groups or one-on-one sessions to bridge learning gaps and promote independence.
  • Manage the IEP process from end to end, including writing measurable goals, hosting review meetings, and ensuring strict compliance with state and federal regulations.
Requirements

Successful candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or a related discipline, complemented by a valid South Carolina Department of Education (SCDE) Special Education teaching certificate. Applicants must demonstrate strong classroom management capabilities, exceptional communication skills, and an inherently collaborative approach to working with multidisciplinary school teams. While prior school-based teaching experience in South Carolina is highly preferred, educators holding out-of-state credentials with verified eligibility for SC licensure reciprocity are welcome to apply.
