PositionChief Software Engineer, Swansea, IL. In this role you will interface directly with the government customer to assess and analyze incoming requirements and provide solutioning support while delivering technical leadership to the GDSS program team. The ideal candidate has a passion for innovation and strong technical leadership to modernize legacy systems and improve user experience.
Responsibilities- Serve as the primary point of contact for government customers to understand their needs and requirements.
- Facilitate discussions and workshops to clarify requirements and expectations, and document courses of action.
- Lead technology analyses and proof‑of‑concept projects; present findings and write white papers on emerging technologies as directed by leadership.
- Collaborate with program management and development teams to create project plans, timelines, and resource estimates.
- Hand over detailed solution designs and requirements to development teams, ensuring clarity and understanding.
- Act as a liaison between the development teams and the customer to address any questions or concerns during implementation.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend improvements and innovations in solution design.
- Gather feedback from customers and development teams to refine processes and enhance solution delivery.
- Identify potential risks and challenges in solution implementation and develop mitigation strategies.
- Proactively address issues that may impact project timelines or deliverables.
- Lead and actively participate in the cloud transition effort to AWS Government Cloud.
- 7+ years of experience leading technical software development teams.
- Experience migrating large on‑prem software systems to the AWS Government Cloud.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher.
- Experience supporting government programs.
- PMP certification.
- Security+ certification.
- AWS Practitioner/Architect certification.
- Experience with Agile/SAFe, .NET, PHP, Oracle/Golden Gate, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Jenkins, Git, Jira, or mobile device development.

Pay & BenefitsWe strive to deliver a total rewards package to attract, engage, and retain top talent. The summary base pay range is $165,000 – $188,000. Applications for this position will be accepted until January 17, 2026.
Export Control RequirementsThis position must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. A “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.62—U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee—is required.

Security ClearanceRequires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance requiring U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post‑Start is required.
