Due to continued growth, the finance team is looking to appoint an Assistant Accountant to support a varied portfolio of clients and contribute to the ongoing success of the business.
Working closely with senior finance colleagues, you will play a key role in delivering accurate financial information, maintaining strong controls, and supporting clients with their day-to-day accounting requirements.
This is a varied position offering exposure to management reporting, budgeting, reconciliations, and stakeholder interaction, making it an excellent opportunity for someone looking to broaden their experience and progress their finance career.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports
- Producing budgets, forecasts, and expenditure analysis
- Performing balance sheet reconciliations and maintaining accurate financial records
- Processing journals, accruals, and prepayments
- Supporting year-end accounting and audit requirements
- Managing invoicing, supplier payments, and account reconciliations
- Monitoring outstanding balances and assisting with credit control activities
- Preparing reports and financial information for clients and stakeholders
- Supporting month-end processes and improving internal controls
- Assisting with general finance administration and wider team projects
- Previous experience within an accounts or finance position
- AAT Level 4 qualified, studying, or equivalent practical experience
- Strong understanding of reconciliations, journals, and month-end processes
- Good Excel skills and confidence working with finance systems
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Confident communication skills with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders
- A proactive and hands-on approach to work
- Experience supporting management accounts
- Exposure to budgeting and forecasting
- Experience working within a client-focused environment
- Understanding of property, professional services, or multi-client accounting environments
- Salary of £32,000 - £35,000
