Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced procurement officer to join our team at Abesta Limited. As a procurement officer, you will play a crucial role in sourcing and acquiring antique items and rugs for our clientele. You will be responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies, identifying reputable suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality products. Your keen eye for authenticity, knowledge of historical periods and craftsmanship, and strong analytical skills will contribute to the success of our procurement operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with Abesta Limited’s vision and objectives in the antique and rug industry.
  • Conduct market research and stay updated on industry trends and developments.
  • Identify and evaluate reputable suppliers and establish strong business relationships.
  • Negotiate favorable terms, pricing, and contracts with suppliers.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to understand procurement needs and requirements.
  • Place purchase orders and ensure accuracy and completeness of documentation.
  • Monitor and track orders to ensure timely delivery of products.
  • Conduct quality inspections to verify the authenticity and condition of antique items and rugs.
  • Maintain a comprehensive database of suppliers, products, pricing, and historical information.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to provide product knowledge and support.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Preferred)
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in procurement, preferably in the antique or interior design industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of antique items, historical periods, and rug craftsmanship.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience in contract management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in using procurement software and tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Results-driven with a focus on meeting organizational goals.
