Senior Quantity Surveyor | Essex | Very Competitive Salary  Bonus, Car/Car Allowance & Pension We are working in partnership with a leading engineering and infrastructure organisation to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor based in Essex. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute QS with a strong background in EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects and experience working with NEC4 contracts.

You will play a key role in overseeing cost control, contract administration, and the commercial performance of complex infrastructure projects.

Role Overview :
The Lead Quantity Surveyor will manage all commercial aspects of large EPC substation projects, ensuring effective contract execution and cost management from tender stage through to project completion.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead commercial and contractual management across the full project lifecycle, including both pre- and post-contract phases Provide strategic input on tendering, contract selection, and budget planning with a focus on risk and contingency Administer lump sum EPC and NEC contracts (Options A, C, and

E) in line with best practice and compliance requirements Oversee project cost control, cash flow forecasting, and preparation of financial reports Manage variations, payment applications, and change control processes Conduct contract risk reviews and support strong risk mitigation measures Ensure commercial documentation is maintained accurately and consistently across project portfolios Candidate Profile:
Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Construction Law, or a related discipline Professional membership (e.g., MRICS, CIOB) is preferred Extensive experience working on large-scale infrastructure or construction projects Strong working knowledge of EPC and NEC4 contracts, particularly Options A, C, and E Demonstrated capability in cost forecasting, procurement strategy, and commercial reporting Effective communicator with excellent analytical and negotiation skills What's on
