About the role

As Staff Product Designer, you will lead Design and Product initiatives that significantly improve the customer experience. You will focus on design and thinking strategically, guiding Design direction across multiple teams, providing inspiration and mentorship to other designers through your experience and leadership in the field.

You'll be part of a growing and vibrant design team, working closely with the Design Director and alongside Service Designers, UX Researchers, Product Managers, and Engineers to create products that really make a difference. The position is entirely remote - we believe in the impact people can bring no matter where they are.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it:
  • Lead design initiatives that enhance the customer experience and align with product and company strategy.
  • Inspire other designers, continually raising the bar for the team and our products.
  • Work in close partnership with the Design System team to ensure alignment with the team's goals and needs.
  • Engage with Design Leadership to refine, execute, and communicate our design vision and strategies across the company.
  • Enhance our design standards, documentation, and processes together with the team to advance our design practices.
  • Define the Design strategy and Vision for the team in cooperation with the Design Director.
  • Uncover user needs through research, develop deep insights, generate concepts, and craft how people will interact with the products and services we design.
  • Audit existing and blueprint new digital and in-person experiences, identifying opportunities and solutions for improvement and experimentation.
  • Who are you?

You have an acute visual eye and can craft interfaces that solve problems, engage, and delight. You are organized and methodical, capable of managing several complex projects simultaneously and connecting the dots.

You have strong skills to define processes that optimize and improve team workflow. You possess a solid background in Product Design and UX.

You can show us an excellent portfolio with design solutions and strategic approaches. You are capable of facilitating workshops, setting design sprints, and holding seminars and training sessions.

You have strong storytelling and public speaking skills, and you are comfortable explaining your ideas to client stakeholders and ideating the best means to present your conceptual work.

You are empathetic and passionate about customers and how a product can help solve their biggest problems. You are comfortable with ambiguity and can effectively cope with change, shift gears comfortably, and make decisions without always having the total picture.

You have an optimistic and positive attitude oriented towards collaboration and learning.

You’ll be a great fit if you bring a few of the below with you:
  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience designing complex products.
  • Minimum bachelor's degree in a design-related discipline.
  • Ability to think beyond current practices and drive change to support new ideas, improvements, and working practices.
  • Experience in Futures Design and Strategic Foresight.
  • What’s in it for you?

Did you know that Mews was voted the Best PMS of 2024 and has previously held the title of Best Place to Work in Hotel Tech for two consecutive years? Most of that is down to our inspiring team, but part of it is because of some pretty amazing perks. As well as awesome colleagues and stimulating work, you'll get:

    • Best-in-class Parental Leave Policy. As the primary caregiver, you get 6 months of fully paid parental leave, and as a secondary caregiver, you get 2 months of fully paid parental leave.
