Service Designer - Senior & Mid

Stealth IT Consulting is supporting a leading global digital consultancy that is expanding its User-Centred Design (UCD) team. We are looking for both mid-level and senior Service Designers to make an impact across major digital transformation programmes, working with high-profile clients across the public and private sectors, including DWP, NHS Digital, BP and IKEA.

• Mid-Level Service Designer:
  An established Service Designer with solid commercial experience across the service design lifecycle, able to work independently, apply UCD methods and produce effective service design deliverables.
• Senior Service Designer:
  Someone who has already operated at senior level, or can demonstrate clear senior-level responsibilities. This includes leading service design activities, taking ownership of work streams, influencing senior stakeholders, guiding other designers and driving design quality. This is not a step-up opportunity for someone looking to move into their first senior role.

The roles are predominantly remote, with occasional travel to client sites, typically around 2–3 times per month depending on project requirements. Available locations include London, Bristol, Manchester, Newcastle and Glasgow.

• Maximising value:
  Ensuring the highest-value outcomes for clients, from initial concepts through to the real-world implementation of service design solutions.
• End-to-end service design:
  Supporting clients throughout the service design process, from ideation and inception through to solution development, testing and delivery.
• Championing user-centred design:
  Applying a range of tools and methods to embed design thinking and user-centred approaches.
• Collaborative design:
  Working alongside multidisciplinary solution teams to shape and develop innovative products and services.
• Driving service improvements:
  Identifying opportunities to improve existing services and introduce new, forward-thinking user experiences.
• Influencing stakeholders:
  Promoting user-focused transformation and working closely with service managers, researchers, UX/UI designers and programme directors to demonstrate the value of user-centred solutions.

• Commercial experience working within UCD across the full service design lifecycle, with the ability to work independently and with minimal support.
• Good understanding of Government Digital Service (GDS) principles and standards.
• Experience creating service design deliverables, including user journeys, personas, service blueprints and concepts.
• Understanding of accessibility challenges across diverse user groups and how to address them through service design.
• Strong facilitation skills, including leading workshops, design sprints and ideation sessions.
• Ability to visualise complex services clearly and communicate them effectively to different audiences.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to challenge assumptions and break down complex problems.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments alongside researchers, designers, analysts, product owners and developers.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver effectively against tight deadlines.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, balancing different perspectives and building support for design decisions.
• A genuine commitment to user-centred design, translating user needs and insights into practical design strategies.

• Mid-Level Service Designer:
  Up to £72,000.
• Senior Service Designer:
  Up to £82,000.
• Additional benefits package.

The final salary will depend on experience, the breadth of your service design capabilities, seniority and salary expectations.
