Introduction

We are recruiting a 4‑session (2‑day) Salaried GP to join our well‑organised, digitally progressive practice on the Swansea Waterfront, with an intended start of May 2026 (flexible by agreement).

We prioritise sustainable workload and protected GP time, offering structured sessions with built‑in administrative time, a sensible duty system and minimal home visits (supported by our Cluster Paramedic service).

Benefits include: 6 weeks annual leave + bank holidays (pro rata), 1 week study leave (pro rata) + CPD funding, protected learning time supported within contracted time, NHS Pension (Wales) and a contract aligned with the BMA Model Salaried GP Contract.

We use modern systems including Accurx, AskMyGP, workflow‑based document management and AI‑assisted transcription to reduce administrative burden.

Our aim is simple: maximise clinical focus and minimise unnecessary admin.

Main duties of the job

4 sessions per week (typically over 2 days). Provide high‑quality, patient‑centred care to registered and temporary patients. Mix of face‑to‑face, telephone and digital consultations. Participation in agreed rota, including duty sessions within contracted hours. Review and action clinical correspondence, results and administrative tasks within allocated sessional time. Contribute to clinical governance, audit, significant event analysis and appraisal requirements. Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and efficient patient care.

No out‑of‑hours requirement.

The post‑holder will report to the Lead GP and Practice Manager and will be supported in maintaining appraisal and revalidation requirements.

We are a digitally progressive practice, using systems such as Accurx, AskMyGP with structured messaging, workflow‑based correspondence management and AI‑assisted transcription to streamline documentation. GP home visits are minimal and supported by our Cluster Paramedic service.

Clinical Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive, patient‑centred primary medical care to registered and temporary patients

  • Assess, diagnose, treat and manage a broad range of medical conditions
  • Prescribe safely and cost‑effectively in line with local and national guidance
