About

The Role

We are recruiting an innovative and dynamic individual to provide advice, support and training to facilitate effective digital learning at the University.

The Education Development Team (“EDT”) works together with Faculty and professional service colleagues through discussion, reflection, and inspiration so that teaching continually develops, and Swansea students experience valuable learning opportunities. This is achieved by shaping and supporting staff pedagogic development so Swansea continues to be recognised for its outstanding learning and teaching environment, driving a positive impact on the student experience.

The successful candidate will have a strong pedagogical understanding and record of delivering excellence and innovation in learning and teaching with a particular expertise in how technology and digital learning design can be used to support the enhancement of quality teaching.

The post holder will provide expert advice, guidance, support and training to academic staff and other key stakeholders across the university in the appropriate pedagogic use of technology learning platforms. This will require a detailed, in-depth understanding of technologies used to support learning at Swansea, these include but not limited to Canvas and Turnitin, for blended, distance and traditional learning.

This role will require excellent teamwork, motivation and communication skills, personal organisation, flexibility, and the need to work to absolute deadlines.

Welsh Language Skills

The Welsh language level required for this role is Level 1 - A little. The role holder will be able to pronounce Welsh words, answer the phone in Welsh (good morning/afternoon) and use very basic everyday words and phrases (thank you, please etc.). Level 1 can be reached by completing a 1 hour course.
