St David's Catholic Primary School is a successful and happy school serving the Catholic communities of the West of Swansea. The successful candidates will be responsible for providing high quality teaching support and working as part of the team. The Teaching Assistant will provide learning support and guidance for all pupils, experience working with children who have additional learning needs in the mainstream classroom is essential.

The post requires:

• Sensitivity, empathy and an understanding of the pupils in the school;
• The relevant qualifications and experience in a school setting;
• Excellent Literacy, Numeracy and IT skills;
• A proven track record of excellence;
• Good communication skills with an ability to encourage, motivate and deal with a variety of pupils.
• Is able to support pupil learning within mainstream Foundation Phase/ Key Stage 2 classes
• Can carry out practical tasks which support the smooth running of the school
• Can work effectively as part of a team
• Is confident in supporting pupils with a range of Additional Learning Needs and those with English as an Additional Language.
• Can be positive, optimistic and pro‑active within an existing strong team of staff
• Will contribute to the general life of the whole school
• Have high expectations both for children and themselves.
• Support high quality teaching and learning.
• Be willing to contribute to the broader life of the school community
