About the Role

Teaching Personnel is excited to be recruiting a caring, enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) in a friendly and inclusive primary school in the [Area] area. If you’re passionate about helping children grow, learn, and shine, this could be the perfect role for you!

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with ALN
  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering tailored learning activities
  • Adapt learning materials to suit individual needs
  • Support pupils with communication, social, emotional, and sensory needs
  • Encourage positive behaviour, engagement, and independence
  • Work closely with teachers, the ALN Co, and other professionals
  • Help create a warm, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment

  • Has a genuine passion for supporting children
  • Is patient, empathetic, and nurturing
  • Has experience working with ALN pupils (desirable but not essential)
  • Is flexible, proactive, and a great team player
  • Communicates clearly and professionally
  • Is open to training and professional development

Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in a 1:1 setting
  • Experience supporting children with autism, speech & language needs, or emotional/behavioural challenges
  • Team Teach/positive behaviour support training (advantageous)
