Teaching Personnel are seeking a dedicated and resilient Supply Teaching Assistant to join a specialist educational setting from September on a full-time basis
. This is an excellent opportunity to support children and young people who require additional assistance to access education and achieve their full potential.
This role is offered on a supply basis initially
, with the potential for longer‑term opportunities and the possibility of securing a school‑based contract for the right candidate.
The school is a specialist provision supporting learners from Key Stage 1 through to Key Stage 4 who may face a range of additional needs and barriers to learning. Pupils may present with:
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
- Challenging behaviour
- Emotional regulation difficulties
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Anxiety and trauma‑related needs
- Attachment difficulties
- Additional learning needs (ALN)

As a Supply Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting learners both academically and emotionally throughout the school day.
Responsibilities may include:
- Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
- Assisting with the delivery of engaging learning activities
- Building positive and trusting relationships with learners
- Promoting positive behaviour strategies and emotional regulation
- Supporting pupils with their social and emotional development
- Working closely with teachers and wider multidisciplinary teams
- Helping to create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment
- Responding calmly and effectively to challenging situations when required
- Contributing to behaviour support plans and learner progress
- Experience working with children or young people with SEMH and behavioural needs
- A strong understanding of trauma‑informed approaches and relationship‑based practice
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A patient, resilient and proactive attitude
- Confidence supporting learners across KS1‑KS4
- The ability to work effectively as part of a wider team
