English Graduate | Waltham Forest | September 2026 Start Are you an English Graduate looking to gain meaningful primary school experience before progressing into teacher training, Educational Psychology or another education-focused career? A welcoming and high-achieving primary school in Waltham Forest is seeking an English Graduate to join from September 2026 on a full-time, long-term basis until July 2027 , with strong potential for extension.

This opportunity is ideal for a graduate who enjoys inspiring children through reading, writing and communication. The school has developed an excellent reputation for its literacy provision, embedding reading for pleasure throughout the curriculum while delivering targeted interventions that help every child become a confident reader and writer. £444 £ 513 weekly via PAYE (inclusive of holiday pay) What the school offers:
Full academic year contract until July 2027 with potential extension Dedicated reading corners and well-stocked library spaces that encourage a love of reading Opportunities to build meaningful relationships with KS1 and KS2 pupils while seeing their progress throughout the year Specialist training in phonics, guided reading and literacy intervention programmes Weekly CPD focused on SEND, safeguarding and effective classroom practice The role will involve:
Delivering targeted reading, writing and literacy interventions across KS1 and KS2 Providing 1:1 and small-group support for pupils requiring additional guidance Supporting children with SEND to access learning and develop communication skills Working closely with teachers to monitor progress and celebrate pupil achievement The successful candidate will:
Hold an English-related degree from a leading UK university, or be graduating this summer Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills Possess strong child-centred experience working with young people Demonstrate enthusiasm, patience and a genuine passion for improving children's literacy
