Are you a Welsh-speaking Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding full-time role in a supportive primary school? Do you have experience working with Early Years or Reception-aged children and a passion for helping young learners flourish?

We are recruiting for a Welsh Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and highly regarded Welsh-medium primary school in the SA2 area of Swansea
. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity starting on 1st September
, supporting a vibrant Reception class throughout the academic year.

You'll work alongside an experienced class teacher to provide engaging support that helps every child develop confidence, independence and a positive attitude towards learning.

As a Welsh Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Support the Reception class teacher with engaging Welsh-medium lessons.

• Deliver one-to-one and small group interventions.

• Encourage language, literacy, numeracy and communication development.

• Support children's social, emotional and behavioural development.

• Assist with play-based learning activities both indoors and outdoors.

• Prepare classroom resources and maintain a stimulating learning environment.

• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.

• Help ensure every child feels valued, supported and able to achieve their full potential.

• Fluent Welsh language skills (essential).

• Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or within an Early Years or Primary School setting.

• A caring, enthusiastic and proactive approach.

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

• The ability to support children's learning through creative and engaging activities.

• A genuine passion for Welsh-medium education.

• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

• Eligibility to work in the UK.

• £14.25 per hour.

• Full-time hours, Monday to Friday.

• Long-term role with the potential for extension.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
