The RoleWe are looking to appoint two Welsh Language Coaches to support learners across our vocational learning areas. You will support Welsh-speaking learners through individual and group sessions, working closely with teaching staff and Learning Area Managers to promote and develop the use of Welsh across the College. The successful candidates will work within one of the following curriculum areas:
Health & Social Care, Childcare, Public Services and Sport Visual Arts, Creative Industries and Business Please state in your personal statement your preferred learning area.
- Full time (37 hours per week)
- Term time (40 weeks per year)
- Fixed Term until 31/08/2027
- £13.72 - £14.94 per hour (£23,026 - £25,067 per annum)
- Across all of our Swansea campuses
- Support learners with concerns about moving from Welsh-medium education, motivation and learning bilingually, helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Hold focused one-to-one sessions with Welsh speaking learners to understand their Welsh language, academic and support needs, and provide appropriate advice, guidance, resources and opportunities.
- Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality group sessions that help learners develop skills and knowledge beyond their qualification, encourage active participation and support their bilingual learning journey.
- Fluent Welsh speaker - minimum B2/Advanced (see competency framework attached).
- Confidence and ability to communicate clearly and effectively with a range of audiences (including young people, parents/carers, external organisations, academic staff), and deliver engaging presentations.
- Experience of promoting the Welsh language and mentoring young people.
- Ability to be proactive, resourceful and use own initiative.
- 28 days (pro rate) annual leave, plus bank holidays, and the college is closed for two weeks over the Christmas period

Full-Time Equivalent Salary for this post is £26,476 - £28,822 per annum
