About the role

Could you help a child build their confidence, overcome barriers to learning and achieve their potential at school?

Jurby Community School is looking to appoint two Education Support Officers, with one position based in Key Stage 1 and the other in Key Stage 2. You'll support pupils with their learning, both in the classroom and within the school's Nurture provision, working closely with teachers and support staff to provide personalised support that builds confidence, encourages independence and helps children thrive academically and socially.

You'll be working with children who may face a range of challenges in their lives, including neurodiverse pupils who benefit from routine and predictability. You'll build positive relationships, listen to advice and bring a caring, positive and 'can do' approach, helping children engage with their learning, make positive choices and develop their self-esteem.

We strongly encourage you to visit the school before applying. It's a great opportunity to meet the team, talk through the role and gain a better understanding of both the opportunities and challenges involved. For candidates based off-Island, we can also arrange an online conversation.

If you're caring, positive and ready to help children learn and thrive, we'd love to hear from you.
