Job Description & How to Apply Below

Company Description

Constructaskill Ltd delivers high-quality, employer-led construction training pathways that lead to real employment outcomes. The organization focuses on sustainable careers by prioritizing progression, employer engagement, and long-term workforce development over volume-based provision. Working across Wales and the wider UK, Constructaskill partners with employers, local authorities, schools, colleges, and regional skills bodies to address labour market demand and critical skills shortages. Its training portfolio spans accredited NVQs, CSCS progression routes, leadership and management, health and safety, and sector-based employability programmes tailored to industry requirements.

Operating from bases in Caerphilly and Neath, Constructaskill is committed to raising standards, strengthening communities, and supporting a resilient construction workforce.

Role Description

The Employability Tutor will design and deliver engaging, learner-focused employability sessions that prepare individuals for entry into construction-related employment, apprenticeships, and long-term careers. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning lessons, delivering group and one-to-one coaching, supporting CV and application development, and helping learners build interview and workplace skills. The role involves assessing learner progress, maintaining accurate records, and collaborating with employers and partners to align training with local labour market needs.

The tutor will also contribute to quality assurance, safeguarding, and continuous improvement of programmes, ensuring accessibility and inclusive practice. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Wales, United Kingdom, requiring travel between local delivery locations as needed.

Qualifications
  • Experience delivering employability or vocational training, ideally within construction or related sectors, with strong lesson planning and learner support skills.
  • Ability to coach learners in CV writing, job search strategies, interview techniques, and workplace behaviours, including communication and teamwork.
  • Strong assessment, record-keeping, and reporting skills, with the ability to track progress toward employment and qualification outcomes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse learner groups and adapt delivery to different needs and abilities.
  • Relevant teaching, training, or assessing qualification (e.g., PTLLS/AET, DTLLS/DET, TAQA or equivalent) and good understanding of safeguarding and equality, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Knowledge of the UK construction sector, entry routes, and progression pathways; experience working with employers or referral agencies is an advantage.
  • Competent IT skills for preparing learning materials, using online resources, and maintaining electronic records; familiarity with virtual delivery platforms is beneficial.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a small team, manage time effectively, and travel to different sites across Wales as programme delivery requires.
