Inta People are happy to be partnering with a global leading manufacturer, to find talented individuals to join their Product Design & Development Engineering team in Swansea. The successful candidate will be working as a Mechanical Design Engineer, being a part of the Product Development team and will work closely with the Research, Electronics and Test teams, to ensure the core technology is designed and implemented correctly in new product developments and existing products.

Responsibilities

Product/Mechanical design using Solidworks

Creating 2D technical drawings

Ensuring that designs are suitable for mass production

Utilising concept designs & development, usability trials, and functional testing

Testing and verification of the function of prototypes

Analysing data and interpreting results to aid improvements

Generate and assist in project documentation, including drawings, test reports, DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), DFM (Design for Manufacturability), DFA (Design for Assembly), etc.

Experience/knowledge

5+ years Design & Development experience

Excellent 3D CAD skills (Ideally Solidworks)

Excellent data analysis skills

Good Knowledge of plastic injection moulding

Design verification and validation experience – testing and reporting

Broad Knowledge of manufacturing methods (desirable)

Simulation Skills - FEA (desirable)
