Position: 2026 Degree Apprenticeship: Civil Engineering - Water

These opportunities are for those who have A-levels or equivalent and looking to undertake a Degree Apprenticeship (level
6). We will close for applications on Monday 9th March 2026, however, if this opportunity becomes over-subscribed then we will close early, so we recommend that you apply as soon as possible.

This opportunity is for our Bristol or Cardiff offices. The successful candidate will be enrolled onto the BEng (Hons) Civil Engineering course with University of West England or University of South Wales. Candidates should live a commutable distance from our Bristol or Cardiff offices and the relevant university campus.

Eligibility

Typical qualification requirements:

University of South Wales
  • UCAS points: 112 (or above)
  • A Level: BBC to include Mathematics and a numerate subject such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Geography
  • Welsh BACC:
    Pass the Advanced Welsh Baccalaureate Diploma with Grade C in the Skills Challenge Certificate and BB at A Level to include Mathematics and a numerate subject such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography
  • BTEC: BTEC Extended Diploma Distinction Merit Merit in a relevant subject which must include Maths and Engineering or Science modules
  • Access to HE:
    Pass an Access to HE Diploma in Maths/Science and obtain a minimum of 112 UCAS tariff points
  • T Level: Pass (C and above)

University of West England
  • UCAS points: 112 (or above)
  • GCSE:
    Grade C/4 or above in English and Mathematics, or equivalent (we accept Functional Skills Level 2 in English and Maths).
  • A-level subjects:
    Grade C or above in Mathematics plus a pass in one of the following subjects:
    Biology;
    Chemistry;
    Computing/Computer Science;
    Design and Technology;
    Electronics;
    Engineering; ICT;
    Further Mathematics;
    Music Technology;
    Physics;
    Statistics. Points from A-level General Studies and AS-level subjects (not taken onto full A-level) can be included towards overall tariff. You must have a minimum of two A-levels.
  • EDEXCEL (BTEC) Diploma:
    One of the following BTEC Diplomas:
    Aeronautical Engineering;
    Applied Science;
    Construction and the Built Environment;
    Electrical/Electronic Engineering;
    Engineering;
    Land-based Technology;
    Manufacturing Engineering;
    Mechanical Engineering; or Operations and Maintenance Engineering. Must include Merit in one of the following units:
    Further Engineering Mathematics or Further Mathematics for Construction.

Our Water Consultancy Division is a hub of technical excellence, offering diverse opportunities to work on river, surface water, and coastal flood risk projects. You’ll receive full training in industry‑standard hydraulic modelling and hydrology, and contribute to projects that support environmental regulators, local authorities, and infrastructure developers.
